PSA Mumbai Secures New Far East Service, Connecting to Major Chinese Ports

PSA Mumbai welcomed the M.V. Singapore Bridge on 12 December 2020, the first of 6 vessels to be deployed in a new Far East service (C16/SIS/CISC2) calling at the terminal. Key personnel from the participating businesses welcomed the vessel in a ceremony with safe distancing measures observed throughout.

A joint operation by Wan Hai Lines, Interasia Lines, Sinokor Merchant Marine Co. Ltd, Heung A Line Co. Ltd., and Feedertech Pte Ltd, the new service will connect PSA Mumbai to key Far East markets with the following port rotations: PSA Mumbai – Mundra – Port Klang North Port – Shekou – Dalian – Shanghai – Ningbo – Hong Kong – Shekou – Singapore – Port Klang West Port – Port Klang North Port – Colombo – PSA Mumbai.

Managing Director of PSA Mumbai Sivakumar Kaliannan thanked the consortium for their support and said, “Launching a new service signals continuing confidence in India’s EXIM volume recovery.” PSA Mumbai’s throughput for September, October and November 2020 has surpassed those from the same period last year. “With more new services coming to PSA Mumbai in Q1 2021 and more new products to be rolled out, we are looking forward to continue increasing our role in facilitating India’s maritime trade in 2021.”
