Baltic Hub Secures Major Funding to Strengthen Regional Gateway Connectivity

Baltic Hub, a member of the PSA Group, signed an agreement with the Centre for EU Transport Projects on 26 June, securing PLN 220.6 million in funding for the electrification and modernisation of its container terminal in Gdańsk, Poland. The grant covers nearly 40% of the total investment value, estimated at PLN 554 million.
The investment will focus on the electrification of terminal operations, expansion of rail infrastructure, and deployment of advanced digital and monitoring systems. These measures will increase terminal capacity, improve the efficiency of intermodal transport flows, and reduce the environmental footprint of operations. The programme includes procurement of additional quay and yard cranes and the electric prime mover fleet as well as the construction works related to the railway siding apron.
The funding was awarded under the 2025 call for intermodal transport projects within the European Funds for Infrastructure, Climate and Environment (FEnIKS) 2021–2027 programme.
Baltic Hub CEO Jan Van Mossevelde said, “Signing this agreement marks an important milestone in Baltic Hub’s development, in line with PSA Group’s Node to Network strategy. This investment will boost our position as a key port ecosystem in Central and Eastern Europe, while accelerating our transition towards more sustainable and efficient operations.”
