PSA Golf Invitational 2019 – Back to Basics

It was Back to Basics on the green for the PSA Golf Invitational, held on 5 July 2019 at Singapore’s Sentosa Golf Club. Hosted by PSA senior management, this year’s theme emphasised PSA’s commitment to Being Alongside its customers, partners and stakeholders. In line with this theme, many turned up in their best retro outfits for a day of fun, bonding and charity.

To start the event, a monetary pledge was made by all golfers in support of the ‘Birdie Challenge’ or ‘Chong Meng Challenge’. Here, players were encouraged to compete with PSA Group CEO Tan Chong Meng, in attempting to strike the ball as closely to the pin as possible. In return, each participant received a goodie bag as well as certain advantages on the green, and for every birdie hit, PSA pledged an additional S$1,000 towards charity.

After the game, Guest-of-Honour and Senior Minister of State for Health and Transport Dr Lam Pin Min, together with golfers and guests, were treated to a sumptuous dinner in the Grand Salon at Sentosa Golf Club. The excitement in the air was tangible as many covetable lucky draw and tournament prizes were up for grabs. The highlight included two “Raffle Draws” with prizes sponsored by Pricebreaker and Emirates. Guests who donated $100 during dinner were given a chance to win either a pair of Emirates tickets to Australia, or a trip for two to Bangkok, with accommodation included. Proceeds raised from the golf game and dinner went towards supporting St. Luke’s Eldercare, one of PSA’s Health@Home partners.

As the night drew to a close, the Golf Invitational not only allowed PSA to reaffirm its strong ties and camaraderie with customers, partners and stakeholders, but also garnered a record-breaking sum of $75,000 for charity. Kudos to everyone who came Alongside for a good cause!
