New Container Handling Record for DCT Gdańsk

Container vessel MSC MINA berthed at DCT Gdansk

On 13 September 2019, DCT Gdańsk in Poland handled an exceptional number of containers on the MSC MINA – a new class of Megamax-24 vessels and one of the largest ships afloat in the world today. During her three-day stay as part of a weekly 2M Silk/AE-10 service call, a total of 12,192 containers (20,081 TEUs) were loaded and unloaded.

Seven state-of-the-art ship-to-shore cranes, with outreach in excess of 25 rows, were deployed to complete the job. In addition, a new berth productivity record of 219 moves per hour was also recorded during one of the shifts.

This exchange of containers on a single vessel is a record achievement for both DCT Gdańsk and the Baltic region!
