PSA Cargo Solutions Southeast Asia Plays Key Role in Successful Construction of Singapore’s Largest Floating Solar Farm

PSA Cargo Solutions Southeast Asia (PCSS) was recently recognised by Sembcorp Industries for playing a key role in the successful completion of Singapore’s largest floating solar farm in Tengeh Reservoir, through our bespoke logistics and supply chain solutions which tackled several challenges and disruptions.
PSA was among other partners and industry players recognised at a recent ceremony held by Sembcorp Industries for the solar farm project. Assistant Vice-President (Cargo Solutions Commercial) Sean Tian received the appreciation plaque on behalf of PSA from Mr Koh Chiap Khiong, CEO Singapore & Southeast Asia of Sembcorp Industries.
Spanning 45 hectares – the equivalent of about 45 football fields – the Sembcorp Tengeh Floating Solar Farm is part of Singapore’s strategy to tackle climate change by harnessing clean energy to power the nation’s water treatment plants.
There were several challenges over the course of constructing and developing the solar farm, including extensive shipment delays due to congestion upstream in Northeast Asia, and a potential delay in the delivery of cargoes from port to construction site due to breakbulk cargo size and height limit regulations on Singapore’s roads.
However, the PCSS team tailored bespoke solutions to address these supply chain problems, and these solutions helped to ensure that the materials were delivered to the site on time without disrupting any construction schedules! The bespoke and rapidly deployed solutions by PCSS created valuable benefits for our customers and earned us praise from our partners.
