Following the celebration of their 15th millionth TEU milestone in April this year, staff at DCT Gdańsk decided to give the commemorative banner a second life by upcycling it into shopper bags.

A unique feature of this commemorative banner was that the name of every DCT Gdańsk employee at the time of print was stitched on the banner, making each upcycled shopper bag unique. Sewn by hand, these shopper bags are water resistant, durable and spacious. They were put on sale to raise funds for charity, where in just two days, all the upcycled bags were snapped up, raising about 2,370PLN (S$830) in total!

Moving forward, DCT Gdańsk will continue to upcycle their used promotional and marketing materials into shopper totes and will also organise more charity drives featuring these bags, in a bid to do their part for the environment while impacting their communities at the same time.
