HYC PSA Scholarships Lend A Helping Hand Towards a Brighter Future

The Howe Yoon Chong PSA Endowment Fund continued its commitment to helping those in need, when a new batch of 30 students were awarded their Howe Yoon Chong PSA scholarships on 23 May 2019.

Now in its eleventh year, the Fund is named in honour of the late Mr Howe Yoon Chong, Chairman of then-Port of Singapore Authority from 1970 to 1979. Set up in 2008 under the auspices of Singapore charity organisation Trailblazer Foundation, financial contributions have come from PSA, Temasek Holdings and NSL Ltd.

The latest batch of scholars brings the total beneficiaries of the program to 226 students to date. Bond-free, the scholarship supports deserving students who strive for excellence, embrace a spirit to overcome adversity and possess the zeal to contribute back to society, regardless of circumstance or income.

Recipients can pursue their studies at the Institute of Technical Education, polytechnics or universities in Singapore, and the scholarships will pay for tuition and other compulsory fees, as well as provide book and living allowances.

Singapore students from low-income families who have contributed actively outside the classroom are eligible to apply for the scholarship. For more details, please visit: www.hycpsascholarship.com
