#Innovators of PSA – Siddarth

Siddarth helms the Strategy & Business Development Group as a Senior Director in CrimsonLogic. He started working with CrimsonLogic as a Senior Consultant in 2009. A management consultant by training, Siddharth had the opportunity in CrimsonLogic to work in a different capacity every few years, e.g. pre-sales, consultant, sales, general management etc.

“To be an innovator I would say one has to have a frame of mind that loves to tackle problems that are tricky, seemingly intractable and work his/her way towards an implementable solution.” – This is the first quality which Siddharth feels that every innovator should have. It should also be coupled with 3 additional skill-sets – passion for solving real-life problems with easy to understand solutions, ability to focus on big picture and yet have an eye for details, and lastly having an open mind that solicits advice and perspectives from other parties.

As someone belonging to the late Gen X or early Millennial demographic cohort, Siddharth can still remember the relationship a pencil had with a cassette tape – we bet many of our readers don’t!. Back in his academic days, he wrote machine assembly language programs while studying 8085 microprocessor and now when he sees where the world is in due to the advancements in technology, he is simply astounded by the progress. Siddharth feels that there are finite limitations that humans face when it comes to processing and making sense of a large amounts of, seemingly unrelated, data. AI (artificial intelligence)/ML (machine learning)/ Data Analytics tools now make it possible to unravel patterns, derive insights, trends and outliers that would have gone undetected otherwise. The possibilities of what the world will be able to achieve with AI/ML are what excite him more than anything else.

Siddharth shared that internal innovation burns brightest in an atmosphere where you find trust, teamwork, a cross-pollination of ideas, organizational structure/policies that incentivise and reward innovation and a belief in the team that the work we do is meaningful and one that makes a positive impact.

Just for fun, we asked Siddharth what he thinks will happen when the earth’s gravity is changed to that of the moons. Siddharth foresees that with a lower gravity, the power needed for transportation will be drastically reduced due to lower thrust needed to move the same object. He also thinks that the doors and ceiling height will have to be increased because everyone will be taller due to the lower gravity!
