For some, photography is a way of capturing privately those uniquely personal and special moments that remain in their hearts forever. Sometimes, we are privileged to have the opportunity to share in these and learn from them too. This image by Ong Kok Hai who works in the Yard Crane Section of Pasir Panjang’s Terminal 1 Engineering Department is one such moment in time. Mesmerised by the view, he took this shot as it perfectly represented to him a balance between two extremes – that of a bustling port and that of the carefree skyline above. He uses it as a metaphor to remember that despite the heavy workloads we all have, we should always take the time to stop for a moment and appreciate the beauty that surrounds us in every direction no matter how big or small.
