Tuas Port Ecosystem

Tuas Port in Singapore functions as a sandbox for new technologies that push the boundaries of port innovation. Beyond the port, the wider Tuas Port Ecosystem is also envisioned to support a synergistic flow of industrial and supply chain activities, interlinked by a seamless mesh of physical and digital connections.

Some of PSA’s most ambitious decarbonisation plans are being introduced in the Tuas Mega Port project in Singapore, which officially opened on 1 September 2022. Built with leading climate-first technologies, Tuas Port is equipped with fully electric quay cranes, yard cranes, and automated guided vehicles. The Tuas Maintenance Base Admin Building was awarded the coveted Green Mark (Platinum) by Singapore’s Building and Construction Authority in 2021, under the Super Low Energy Building category. The building features best-in-class energy performance, use of renewable energy, and utilises a smart energy management system. The use of ground granulated blast furnace slag (GGBS) to replace Ordinary Portland Cement In the construction of buildings at Tuas Port also reaped a 70% reduction in embodied carbon emissions.

Automated and smart port operations are a hallmark of Tuas Terminal, enabling safe and productive port operations with continued innovations on automation systems, terminal layout and equipment design. When completed in the 2040s, Tuas Port will be the largest automated container terminal in the world, with an annual handling capacity of 65 million TEUs.

In close proximity to Singapore’s industrial area in the west and the Jurong Innovation District, Tuas Port is envisioned to be a integral node of a wider ecosystem that links the supply chains of key future industries both physically and digitally. PSA offers a suite of Port+ services such as Dangerous Goods (DG) handling, cold store, warehousing and depot services for cargo owners with specific needs, backed by a network of digital tools. Our goal is to co-create and develop cargo solutions with industry partners that empower cargo owners with more agile, resilient and sustainable supply chains.
