PSA Antwerp – Envision Your Future!

PSA Antwerp, MSC PSA European Terminal (MPET) and Antwerp Terminal Services (ATS) have taken the recruitment of new talent to the next level at recent job fairs in Belgium this year. The brand-new PSA/MPET/ATS job booth is fitted with Virtual Reality (VR) technology, to give students and prospective employees a virtually “real” experience of working for PSA in the Port of Antwerp.

With the help of VR glasses, students and prospective employees can experience standing on a 50-meter-high quay crane, to enjoy a panoramic view of the largest container terminal in Europe. In this immersive experience, a gigantic containership sails by in front of them, and they are placed in the midst of containers in every colour being loaded and unloaded. They can also enter a workshop to see a technician working on a straddle carrier or move to a crane control room to watch an operator at work. The VR simulation ends with an invitation, “Will you become our new colleague?”

The novel VR experience was enthusiastically received by the job fair participants, with the plan being for the PSA/MPET/ATS job booth to go “on tour” at upcoming large job fairs, to spark interest amongst millennials in Belgium to work in the Port of Antwerp. The VR experience will later return to the PSA Antwerp Head Office, to be used for the benefit of future visitors as well as other job applicants.

Well done to our Belgium colleagues for applying new technologies to engage and recruit new talent, while showcasing PSA as an innovative organisation and employer of choice!
