PSA Antwerp, Felbermayr and Haeger & Schmidt Logistics Join Forces in PSA Breakbulk NV

PSA Antwerp, the Felbermayr Group, and Haeger & Schmidt Logistics have inked an agreement to invest in PSA Breakbulk NV (PSA Breakbulk) under a renewed joint venture. The official start date for the joint venture is 14 July 2021.
Together, the three parties will invest in the necessary equipment and organisation on the site at the Churchill dock. This demonstrates their intentions for long-term cooperation and re-affirms their confidence in the future of the breakbulk sector in the Port of Antwerp.
The collaboration confirms the leading position of PSA Breakbulk in the handling of general cargo and steel in the Port of Antwerp. In addition, the renewed shareholder structure will enable the company to strengthen its position in the project cargo and heavy lifting market, subsequently expanding and optimizing the entire value chain.
MD of PSA Antwerp Jan Van Mossevelde said, “We are delighted to enter into this partnership with Felbermayr, the leading European heavy lift transportation and crane specialists. Over time we will create a lay-down area for the chemical and petrochemical sector for heavy lift parts. We are introducing a Project Cargo Ecosystem concept, a new service to the market which we believe will give new impetus to the breakbulk sector.”
