Leading up to Job Day, which was held 27 May 2018, PSA Antwerp ran an innovative and creative campaign themed “Fly to your Future”, as part of a recruitment drive to find skilled technicians to join the company. Ads were launched on social media, banners were placed around town and a straddle carrier was moved out of the port and in front of the PSA Antwerp office to drum up attention.

Those who were keen to participate in Job Day could submit their resume through the PSA Antwerp website. Following through on the theme of flight, 35 potential staff were shortlisted from the entries to enjoy a helicopter flight for an exciting aerial view of the terminal, accompanied by one of PSA Antwerp’s technicians.

Upon arrival at the terminal, participants were taken on a private tour, followed by an interview with HR and a second interview with heads of the technical departments. After flying back to the city, the job candidates each received a goodie bag and the successful applicants walked away with a job offer too.

Concurrently, Job Day also featured a fair at the Willemdok which was open to the public. This came complete with food, snacks and fun play areas for kids. The overall event saw a strong turnout of job applicants for the role of technician as well as other vacancies.

The event received broad media attention and by the numerous job applications PSA Antwerp is still receiving to-date, this year’s Job Day really took flight!
