PSA Chennai Celebrates 10 millionth TEU Milestone

PSA Chennai recently achieved a significant milestone by handling its 10 millionth container in May, despite intense competition from neighbouring terminals and private ports in the region.
The terminal has also achieved multiple industry accolades over the years, which is a testament to its consistent performance and operational excellence. The terminal was named Container Terminal of the Year at the South East Cargo and Logistics Awards across multiple years and also received other accolades from leading trade publication EXIM in India.
Looking ahead, PSA Chennai has outlined its vision to enhance its customer base, expand its services, and solidify its position as a leading container terminal in the region. It aims to achieve this by emphasising the development of rail connectivity to connect all major Inland Container Depots (ICDs) from PSA Chennai, thereby providing comprehensive end-to-end logistics solutions with support from the PSA BDP team. This will in turn attract new services from shipping lines and migrating volumes from leading Beneficial Cargo Owners (BCOs) in the region and nearby states.

During the celebratory event held at the terminal, PSA India CEO Gobu Selliaya extended his appreciation to the entire PSA Chennai team for their momentous achievement, commending the team for overcoming their challenges and hurdles to achieve this milestone. While offering congratulations to the team, he encouraged them to build upon this success and continue serving the industry with an unwavering commitment to the highest standards.
PSA Chennai CEO Deep Kishore Reddy expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the stakeholders and the entire PSA Chennai team for their invaluable contributions in achieving a significant milestone despite operating in a challenging environment. He specifically commended the team for their outstanding service levels, which played a crucial role in the company’s growth.
