PSA Go Green 2020 – Reduce, Reuse and Recycle

The annual PSA Go Green event took place from 14 September to 13 October, where staff from our Business Units (BUs) around the world participated in various Go Green initiatives to do their part for the environment, whilst practising safe distancing measures. Marking its seventh year, the group-wide Go Green initiative is PSA’s effort to promote environmental awareness and advocacy amongst our staff, and a chance to highlight our collective and individual efforts for our environment.

The theme for this year was the 3Rs, namely ‘Reduce, Reuse, Recycle’, which challenged our colleagues to rethink consumption patterns and to re-purpose everyday items at home and at work to extend their lifespans. Across our BUs, collection drives were held to reuse and recycle pre-loved items.

Collectively, more than 3,000 kg of items including e-waste, clothes, plastic bottles and pre-loved books were collected and sent to appropriate recycling plants or donation centres to give these items a second life.

Numerous workshops were organised as well to promote the 3Rs, such as upcycling reusable face masks from scrap cloth and making natural disinfecting washing liquid to keep our people safe amidst COVID-19. Many BUs also continued their yearly initiatives to plant trees, conduct litter picking activities and organise environmental awareness talks to encourage our staff to embrace green mindsets and take green actions.

PSA is heartened by the sterling efforts of all staff who participated in this year’s Go Green activities! Collectively, these thoughtful environmentally-friendly acts, when multiplied, can lead to a meaningful and positive impact on our Earth. PSA will continue to work alongside their stakeholders and partners to be green stewards for the environment and to safeguard a cool clean world for future generations.
