PSA Joins World Economic Forum’s First Movers Coalition Infrastructure Pillar

On 3 October 2022, PSA joined the World Economic Forum's (WEF) First Mover Coalition's (FMC) Infrastructure Pillar, in a significant step that marks the Group's continued commitment to enable sustainable trade and contribute to a net-zero future.
At the launch of FMC's new Infrastructure Pillar in Singapore hosted by PSA, Singapore's Minister of Transport S. Iswaran gave an opening address to guests from leading infrastructure companies and public sector agencies.
The FMC is a global initiative that aims to harness the purchasing power of companies to decarbonise seven "hard to abate" industrial sectors which collectively account for 30% of global emissions (Aluminum, Aviation, Chemicals, Concrete, Shipping, Steel, and Trucking sectors). The FMC currently has more than 50 member companies and 10 Government Partners, including the US, UK, Japan, Germany, and Singapore. Its key objectives also include accelerating the adoption of innovative Carbon Removal technologies, as well as facilitating the commercial scale of novel clean technologies by 2030.
The Infrastructure Pillar was set up in response to FMC members' feedback that infrastructure-related initiatives – such as increasing on-site storage capacity of novel green fuels (green hydrogen, e-ammonia, etc) and improving access to electric charging stations – would be key enablers to accelerate decarbonisation solutions.
