PSA Mumbai Wins Special Recognition Award at the 33rd JNPA Annual Awards Function and Celebrates its 4 Million TEU Milestone

PSA Mumbai was presented with a special recognition award on 5 July 2022 by the Jawaharlal Nehru Port Authority (JNPA) for handling more than one million TEUs of container traffic for the first time from 2021 to 2022.

The ceremony was JNPA’s 33rd annual event to celebrate the exceptional performance of their terminal operators, shipping lines, and stakeholders who have contributed to the growth of the Port. This year, JNPA organised the Maritime Public-Private-Partnership Conclave, which was attended by India’s Minister of State for Ports, Shipping and Waterways & Tourism, Mr. Shri Shripad Naik. He congratulated all the award winners and their efforts to deliver high productivity despite the challenges faced during the past years.

JNPA commended PSA Mumbai’s achievement in handling 1.24 million TEUs from 2021 to 2022 – a record throughput performance for the terminal despite being in the midst of the pandemic and being the newest of all the private operators in JNPA.

On 22 July 2022, PSA Mumbai also achieved its milestone of 4 million TEUs since commencing operations in February 2018, which was accomplished within a span of 4.5 years.

Managing Director of PSA India Gobu Selliaya said, “It feels great to be recognised as one of the best performers by the Jawaharlal Nehru Port Authority. The Award is a testament to our commitment to deliver the best performance and enhance the productivity in all conditions. My heartfelt gratitude to our hardworking staff who made it possible for us to scale new heights in performances despite the odds.”
