PSA Participates in Smart Freight Centre’s Development of Guidance for End-to-End GHG Logistics Emissions

PSA has joined a network of leading global organisations as a signatory and participant of Smart Freight Centre’s (SFC) Guidance for End-to-End Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Logistics Emissions, which will be published in collaboration with the World Business Council for Sustainable Development (WBCSD).

The objective of this guidance – targeted for publication at the end of the year – is to enable companies to better understand and track their carbon emissions on a granular operational level, enhance industry collaboration and support businesses in the implementation of their decarbonisation strategies and achievement of net-zero targets.

To fit and meet the industry’s need when decarbonising their entire logistics carbon footprint, this set of guidelines spans across the entire supply chain – from supplier to customer.

In co-developing this guidance, inputs from more than 25 leading global organisations across the entire logistics supply chain will be collated, building upon existing methodologies and guidance such as the Global Logistics Emissions Council (GLEC) Framework and the Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Protocol. Other industry stakeholders who are participating include advanced industrial manufacturers such as Siemens and Volkswagen, major shipping lines such as Maersk and CMA CGM, and retailers such as Amazon.
