PSA Signs Call to Action for Shipping Decarbonisation

PSA International has joined more than 150 organisations as a signatory for the Call to Action for Shipping Decarbonisation, developed by a multi-stakeholder task force convened by the Global Maritime Forum’s Getting to Zero Coalition. The signatories represent the entire maritime ecosystem across the world and range from ship owners, operators, ship managers, charterers, cargo owners, and freight forwarders to ports, shipbuilding, equipment, technology, research and development, classification societies, and associations and organisations.
The signatories to this Call to Action believe that an urgent and equitable decarbonization of the maritime supply chain by 2050 is possible and necessary. Shipping must align with the Paris Agreement temperature goal and be run entirely on net-zero energy sources by 2050.
The Call to Action will be delivered to world Governments in November 2021, in advance of the 2021 United Nations Climate Change Conference (also known as COP26).
Achieving these ambitious targets will require urgent collaboration at scale across sectors and countries. PSA stands alongside the international maritime ecosystem in taking decisive climate action towards decarbonizing supply chains!
