PSA Singapore Reaffirms its Sustainability Commitment

March was a busy month for PSA Singapore, as it reaffirmed its commitment to create a sustainable future by participating in the Singapore World Water Day movement and Earth Hour! As the port that never sleeps, PSA Singapore also does not rest in embedding a sustainability mindset.
PSA Singapore participated in Singapore World Water Day (SWWD) in March, organising a series of activities over the month to raise awareness of the importance of water conservation among Singapore-based employees and the public. SWWD is spearheaded by PUB – Singapore’s national water agency which manages the country’s water supply – and is an annual nationwide movement that pledges Singapore’s commitment to water conservation.
Beyond the workplace, PSA Singapore made a difference in the community by spreading the message about water conservation to residents of The Haven (a residential home established by The Salvation Army for children and youths). On 17 March, PSA Singapore’s Corporate Social Responsibility team of volunteers brought The Haven’s residents on a trip to the Sustainable Singapore Gallery, where they discovered Singapore’s reservoirs and water management strategies through the interactive guided tours and multi-sensory exhibits. Here they learnt more about the challenges that Singapore faces when creating a clean and sustainable living environment for its people.

On 26 March, PSA Singapore also participated in Earth Hour. Organised by the World Wildlife Fund, Earth Hour is one of the world’s largest grassroots movements for the environment and a catalyst for positive environmental impact by harnessing the power of collective action. At 8:30pm, the lights in PSA Singapore’s office buildings were switched off for one hour.
These actions are just a few of the many initiatives taken by PSA business units globally towards climate action and environmental sustainability. Every little bit counts!
