PSA Singapore Recognised for Excellence in Engineering and Sustainability for Tuas Maintenance Base Project

PSA Singapore has been recognised for its commitment to sustainability and excellence in engineering as they took home two separate award wins – the Institution of Engineers Singapore (IES) Sustainability Award and ASEAN Outstanding Engineering Achievement Award – in November!
At the World Engineer’s Summit 2023, PSA Singapore took home the IES Sustainability Award for the development of Tuas Maintenance Base. The IES Awards acknowledges outstanding achievements in engineering projects and initiatives that promote sustainability and innovation.
The Tuas Maintenance Base – PSA Singapore’s first Super Low Energy Building – serves as a testament to PSA Singapore’s dedication to sustainable practices. With its various energy-saving and energy-efficient features, the building is expected to use 58% less energy annually as compared to other similar-sized buildings.
The Tuas Maintenance Base has also previously garnered other prestigious awards and accreditations from the Building and Construction Authority in Singapore. These include the Green Mark Platinum certification, Green Building Innovation Cluster Award, and BCA-HPB (Health Promotion Board) Green Mark Platinum award for Healthier Workplaces.
Later in November, PSA Singapore received the ASEAN Outstanding Engineering Achievement Award at the 41st Conference of the ASEAN Federation of Engineering Organisations (CAFEO 41). Held in Bali, Indonesia from 20 to 23 November, the event, and its related awards seek to recognise exceptional engineering accomplishments within ASEAN countries.
