PSA’s BMCT Celebrates its First Year Anniversary with a Run

Bharat Mumbai Container Terminals Private Limited (“BMCT”), a subsidiary of PSA International, celebrated its first year of operations with ‘The BMCT 1st Anniversary Run’ held on 21 February 2019.

Despite the heavy morning fog, 200 BMCT staff participated in the competition, vying for a place in the inaugural 5 km and 10 km races. Attractive prizes awaited the winners and every participant walked away with a Finisher medal.

The event was flagged off by BMCT’s General Manager Sivakumar Kaliannan. He highlighted that after working hard to set new benchmarks, the run was a historic moment to mark this significant milestone, and thanked everyone for their dedication and perseverance. The event also marked a personal first for some of the staff, as many had never before attempted running a 5 km or 10 km marathon.

PSA India’s Managing Director Mike Formoso also expressed his delight at the enthusiasm and teamwork displayed, as well as the sheer number of BMCT staff participating in the fun and games. The run was more than just a commemorative activity, as it showed the strong bonds formed within the company. He expressed hope that this would be the beginning of a bright future for the terminal and that by continuing to work hard together, new milestones could be achieved in developing BMCT into India’s largest container terminal, while still having fun along the way.
