Safety Week 2021 – Valuing Lives

To underscore that lives are precious and workplace safety is of utmost importance, PSA organised its annual Safety Week with the theme ‘Valuing Lives’. Held from 15 to 21 January 2021, staff and stakeholders of PSA Business Units (BUs) from around the world participated in a diverse range of activities which reminded each other of upholding workplace safety standards, while keeping in mind safety distancing measures.
In addition, Group Health, Safety, Security & Environment (GHSSE) also organised a global photo and video competition this year, encouraging PSA staff to submit photos and videos which showcased strong safety behaviours and measures put in place at PSA workplaces around the world. It was heartening to see our PSA colleagues actively participating in the competition.
PSA Group CEO Tan Chong Meng encouraged PSA BUs to continue to upkeep high workplace safety standards by leveraging on safety culture programmes such as Starfish and Understanding Your Culture (UYC), adding that technologies such as video analytics and sensors can also be deployed to protect human lives. He said: “Each of us must step up, value lives, and take safety seriously. Let us celebrate every life saved by playing our part.”
