Seah Shun

Seah Shun, a Senior Mechanical Engineer in the Quay Crane Engineering Department here in PSA Singapore Terminal 1, enjoys capturing interesting moments and intriguing architectural designs through the lens of his camera. He believes that a photo has the power to reframe our vision of the world and thus our mindset. Seah took this photo while inspecting the finished surface of a Boring Process, and it brought to mind the Chinese proverb, that ‘a frog in a well does not know the great ocean’. This shot, a tunnel vision of a small piece of the waterline, shows Keppel Terminal in the fore, the near future of Pasir Panjang Terminals in the distance and the imminent future of Tuas in the far West, just beyond sight. In other words, Seah tried to convey that we should not forget to look beyond what is plainly evident, to see the bigger picture and plan ahead to shape the future.
