Work, Learn & Play – All in A New Home

PSA Singapore broke ground in a ceremony last month to mark the start of construction works for a new office building and club house at Pasir Panjang Terminal.

Over 160 guests were present, including PSA management, unions and staff, as well as the architecture and construction firms appointed to bring the plans to fruition.

The new development will bring together departments of PSA Southeast Asia, PSA Singapore and PSA Club, union offices, and PSA University, all of which are currently housed at different locations.

Designed to integrate Work, Learn & Play, the environmentally sustainable offices will feature shared facilities to foster the free interchange of ideas, closer collaboration among teams, continuous learning for skilling up, and stronger bonding through recreation and play.

Guest of Honour, Group Chairman PSA International Fock Siew Wah said, “Through the bonding process, the interactions, and the friendships formed, our staff will develop the greatest sense of belonging to PSA because we are one family.”

When completed in early 2020, the development will include a visitor centre and a viewing deck that will be open to the public. A linear park of greenery has been planned for the space opposite the new building, connecting it to a regional network of public parks. These initiatives are part of PSA Singapore’s efforts to bring the public closer to the port, so that they may enjoy the view and appreciate the importance of the port to the economy and its contribution to global trade.

During the event, guests were treated to a fly-through video of the new development. As the event took place during the Lunar New Year period, a lion dance added to the festive air and the auspicious occasion.

Guests viewing the exhibits were clearly excited to see what awaits them in this new home away from home. Congratulations to the PSA Singapore project team for achieving this milestone, and we look forward to the official opening!
