The 54th World Economic Forum (WEF) Annual Meeting was held in Davos, Switzerland from 15 to 19 January 2024, where over 2,700 leaders across 130 countries met in-person under the theme of “Rebuilding Trust”.
PSA International Group CEO Tan Chong Meng and Group CEO (Designate) Ong Kim Pong participated in the WEF Supply Chain and Transport (SCT) Governors and Policy Sessions. The sessions convened key supply chain leaders and policymakers to discuss avenues to accelerate the transformation of the global transport ecosystem, underpinned by the availability of clean energy infrastructure and supply as well as digital resilience.
The SCT Governors gathered to discuss industry challenges and opportunities for a collective response in the face of geopolitical fragmentation, a dynamic economic landscape, and growing demand for renewable energy. They also took time to recap on past year’s focus, noting the First Movers Coalition and pandemic responses like the Logistics Emergency Teams.
Throughout the sessions, the SCT Governors recognised the need for public-private sector partnerships to drive collective action.
The SCT Community also expressed their sincere appreciation to Chong Meng for his leadership of the community in his role as SCT Chair, as well as his invaluable contributions to the positive advancements in the supply chain ecosystem. A Swiss cowbell was presented to Chong Meng as memorabilia of his tenure.
